Job Description:
Overall Purpose of the job
Responsible for Medical coding of clinical trial data using the appropriate medical dictionary and client coding conventions.
Responsibilities/Authorities
-Assign codes, using the appropriate dictionary, for terms which have failed to auto-encode.
-Perform SAE Reconciliation.
-Draft queries to clarify data issues that are preventing proper coding
-Ensure consistency of coding across study projects.
-Ensure quality and meet timelines of all coding deliverables.
-Run periodic coding related reports or reports that help facilitate quality and timely database releases.
-Assist with off shore mentoring related to coding.
-Provide inputs/suggestions to update coding guidelines in accordance with quality review of the client medical coding team.
-Provide inputs/support on the development of Thesaurus Management training and/or other training sessions.
-Promote teamwork and synergies between Medical coding team and other CDM processes. Communicate and proactively share information & best practises with the other CDM teams.
-Serve on teams to optimize processes and use of CDM and Medical Coding related technology to build a more efficient team. Encourage practical applications of new ideas.
-Identify and address all issues of data reporting trends, inconsistencies, queries, Initiations, and/or other issues with data terms collected for coding purposes.
-Perform Coding tool UAT as needed
-Perform peer review/Quality checks as needed.
-Exposure to Excel formulas, Macros etc.
-Support process improvements projects.
Educational and Experience Requirements :
Any B. Pharm, M. Pharm, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing qualification preferred.
Minimum of 3 year experience in coding using MedDRA and WHO Drug dictionaries along with ATC.
CMC certification is a plus.
