Job Description For Medical Coding Trainer
Job Title: Trainer– Medical Coding
Job Role: The Primary function of Medical Coding Trainer is to train clinicians on ICD -10, CPT and HCPCS with emphasis on making the trainees well versed with all the coding guidelines, creating the competency in the trainees to understand complex coding scenarios in conjunction with the billing .guidelines of CMS and Medicaid. Creating the MIS Reports.
Job Responsibilities:
- Capable of delivering class room training effectively on ICD, CPT, HCPCS and Medical Billing concepts and Preferable inpatient coding
- Ability to break down complex coding scenarios for easy understanding of trainees
- In-depth understanding of US Healthcare concepts
- Strong knowledge on Medical Billing and other RCM functions
- Developing and maintaining training plan and reports and MIS reports
- Ability to perform effective TNA
- Designing and developing training modules
- Developing assessment tools: Evaluations and knowledge checks, exercises
- Providing constructive feedback
- Evaluating the changes in the Training Needs
- Tracking changes and updates in US Healthcare Medical Coding and Medical Billing domains
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Coding training
- Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences
- Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA
- Preferably experience in Inpatient coding training
