Job Description for H and LS Medical Coders:
Responsible for Medical coding of clinical trial data using the appropriate medical dictionary and client coding conventions.
Responsibilities/Authorities
- Assign codes, using the appropriate dictionary, for terms which have failed to auto-encode.
- Perform SAE Reconciliation.
- Draft queries to clarify data issues that are preventing proper coding.
- Ensure consistency of coding across projects.
- Ensure quality and meeting of timelines of all coding deliverables.
- Run periodic coding related reports or reports that help facilitate quality and timely database releases.
- Assist with off shore mentoring related to coding.
- Provide inputs/suggestions to update coding guidelines in accordance with quality review of the client medical coding team.
- Provide inputs/support on the development of Thesaurus Management training and/or other training sessions.
- Serve on teams to optimize processes and use CDM & Medical Coding related technology to build a more efficient team. Encourage practical applications of new ideas.
- Identify and address all issues of data reporting trends, inconsistencies, queries, Initiations, and/or other issues with data terms collected for coding purposes.
- Perform Coding UAT.
- Support process improvements projects.
- Educational and Experience Requirements :
Required Exp: Minimum 1 year.
Education: Any Life science background.
